Farmopolis
August 2016
I was brought in by Picturesque Productions as part of their carpentry team for this massive project. A large event space, restaurant and bar, Farmopolis is housed inside a 600m² polytunnel, built on a jetty on the Greenwich peninsular.
We laid 600m² of decking, which we painstakingly set at alternating angles as a design feature. The huge area made it very difficult to keep everything square, and this was made even harder by the fact that the decking followed a zigzag design. We also fabricated a large selection of bespoke benches and planters, which we made in a nearby workshop and then installed on site.
Project responsibilities:
- Interpretation of design drawings
- Bench joinery
- Decking
- Installation of planters and seating areas
- Problem solving
