In Summer 2016, I joined Bones Creative, and was a key member of the team building Mother Owl and the Lake Stage. This incredibly talented and diverse team of artists and craftsmen have been responsible for a large part of the unique production that has made Gottwood special over the years.

Mother Owl designed by the talented Joe Adams, a truly spectacular sculpture and Dj booth, was a huge amount of fun to make. The complex angles and precision carpentry that make its geometrical modular structure mean that she can be part of the festival for years to come. The result was truly spectacular and an example of the incredible production that makes Gottwood magical.

The Lake Stage was also very enjoyable to make, though a lot simpler. Using a site vehicle to collect natural materials from the surrounding woodland, we arranged the collected branches and ivy to hide the staging and rigging, making the foliage all seem to grow as one. Making things like this with bits of trees and woven branches is one of my favourite things to do.
